Carver Academy uses the Abeka curriculum as its foundation, which is research-based, time-tested, and produces proven academic results. Supplementing this curriculum is Bob Jones University's curriculum, which brings hands-on science into the classroom beginning in first grade, and fantastic Bible lessons applied in the character of the lives of our students! This curriculum provides high-level critical-thinking-based skillsets. Our approach to education keeps learning lively, engaging, and memorable. We use sensible theory that is firmly anchored to practicality.
"But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves." James 1:22 (NLT)
We believe in standardized testing to measure our school's performance and ensure that the academics we provide are consistently superior to any other school, public or private.
Elementary Grades K-5
At Carver, we look to capture the minds of students early on. Our curriculum includes exploration and development in math, language, spelling, reading, science, and social studies. We look to provoke higher-level thinking skills to serve our students in and out of the classroom. Children will discover their God-given talents while growing in mind, body, and spirit. Carver provides academic excellence with a Christian perspective.
Middle School Grades 6-8
As academics advance, we seek to nurture the whole student. Students will be continuing to develop their skills learned in our elementary program as well as exploring algebra and science labs. Students will be given opportunities to implement ideas, concepts, and processes learned in the classroom to the environment around them on a regular basis. Critical thinking skills are key in this time of development, and we will help your students to cultivate those essential skills for their success in any secondary education environment and beyond.
Specials
Carver Academy strives to cultivate students in more than just academics to develop them into well-rounded individuals. In addition to strong literacy, math, science, social studies, and biblical studies, we offer a variety of specials weekly.

At Carver Academy, students create art using a variety of media and materials allowing them to develop their own artistic style and skills. The curriculum is designed to introduce students to the elements of art and principles of design as well as art history in a way that is developmentally appropriate and engaging. Each grade level completes a series of art projects that allow them to deepen their understanding of what it means to glorify God in the artistic process.

Health and Fitness encompasses physical, social, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. At Carver, we encourage well-rounded healthy habits to take care of the individual's whole self. We aim to develop motor skills, physical fitness, and physical coordination/skills in various sports and activities as well as cooperation and communication skills by playing interactive games and working as a team. The best part: becoming kinesthetically aware while having fun with friends!

Knowing and applying God's Word is a foundational skill for Carver students. In Chapel, students learn Bible passages and stories through various creative object lessons and engaging means. Because applying God's Word can be difficult for school aged children, we dedicate this special to provide a comfortable space for children to inquire about Jesus and His amazing plans for their lives.

One of God's greatest gifts to the human ear is music. At Carver Academy, we want our students to embrace different musical experiences. Our students are taught basic music theory including rhythm, beat, melody, harmony, scale, and so on. Music engages people in many ways and our students get to listen, replicate, and explore singing, various instruments, and other related art forms. As the music curriculum progresses, older students learn how to read music, play the recorder, and apply the basics to creating music. Not only do Carver students learn about music history, but also engage in discussions of classics, roots of American music, and the important role music plays in society.

Carver Students will be introduced to and learn practical skills and knowledge about computers and technology - from networking to computer hardware to graphic design! Getting students familiar with technology and computer programs early will allow them to feel more comfortable leading and helping others. Our students will be able to creatively explore how to make technology work for them in different educational settings as well as everyday life. By the end of this class, we strive to equip our students to help others with a variety of computer or technological problems!
